Will it fit my car?
We tested it on our own car (a compact SUV). It is designed for vehicles with a standard seat-belt buckle next to the driver's seat,: the cable loops around the steering wheel and the lock clicks into the driver's buckle. It is too short to reach the passenger-side buckle. If it doesn't fit your vehicle, the 30-day money-back guarantee applies.
How do I fit it for the tightest hold?
Loop the cable through the part of the steering wheel that keeps it shortest between the wheel and the buckle, then push the lock into the buckle until it clicks. The shorter the cable, the less the wheel can move.
Does it stop the wheel from turning completely?
No. The wheel can still move a little before the cable stops it, but not enough to steer the car. That is what we measured on our own sample.
Can someone just press the seat-belt button to release it?
The lock housing covers the buckle's red release button, so it can't be pressed while the lock is in place.
Is it theft-proof?
No steering wheel lock makes a car theft-proof, and we won't claim otherwise. It is a visible, physical obstacle: it takes time and tools to defeat, and thieves usually look for an easier car. Use it together with the usual precautions (locked doors, keys out of sight).
How many keys come with it?
